DAY 11

 The electronic configuration of various elements in K,LM shell was taught in class today. The maximum number of electrons that can be accommodated in various shell was also taught. The students were given elements of known atomic number and mass number to calculate the number of protons, electrons and neutrons.

DAY 10

 Today there was a special assembly conducted by differently abled students in accordance with Helen Keler day. Each and every event of the assembly was very interesting. There was a quiz session related to Helen Keler. A write-up of Helen Keler was read by Sayona of class 10 A.

I had observation by Anju miss in class 8. I taught the topic Density and Volume. Experiments related to difference in density of objects was shown in class. Also  a triangular shaped teaching aid was introduced to students to make them gain the concept related to the relation between density , mass and volume.

DAY 9

 June 26, International Drug Abuse Day was celebrated in S.M.V Govt. model BHSS. The function was inaugurated by respected education minister V Shivankutty sir. The students prepared various charts and posters related to the theme -Drug Abuse. Teachers and student teachers decorated the stage and the platform. The education minister addressed the students and gave a speech on the relevance of celebrating these sort of days. Various eminent personalities were present at the function 

DAY 7 -8

The classes were handled related to the topic units and measurements and structure of atom. June 23rd  as per the direction from state government every school was suppose to celebrate it as dry day. The aim behind this is to reduce diseases such as malaria, dengue etc. The students were divided into various small groups and teachers were allocated to each group. Under the supervision of teachers students were asked to clean the given area. Students and teachers actively participated in the programme.

 

DAY 6

June 21 World Yoga Day and World Music day. There was assembly in school today. Students of class 10A conducted the assembly today. As part of music day, Shibu a student of class 8B sang a song. Also Abhijith sir has gave away the Reading week pledge. The students repeated the same. H.M has given message to the students.

The topic mass and time was taught in class 8. The ideas and concepts were delivered with connection from daily life. Also a model of clock was shown to students and they were taught the method to know the time by looking clock.

 

DAY 5

The various units of length was taught in class 8 A. There was an activity given to students to understand the concept of bigger and smaller units of length.

The contributions and experiments of various scientists related to atom was displayed in class 9 A. Videos related to their experiments was projected on ICT.

The ideas of Bohr atom model was introduced in class with the help of Bohr atom model.

 There was a meeting under the supervision of H.M  in order to thank all the staff and student teachers for the efforts that made the welcome programme of girl students a great success.

DAY 4

Today was a special day in the history of SMV Govt. Model HSS school.  As part of mixed school system four girls took admission in this school and it has become a mark on history. The programme for welcoming the girls students to school was scheduled on 19 June 2023. The programme was named 

ഒപ്പം 2K23. The programme was inaugurated by our respected education minister Shri. V.Shivankutty. The presidential address was given by Shri. Antony Raju sir. Many other eminent persons were present at the function. The girl students were welcomed to the school. Also there was distribution of momentos for students who excelled in the academics in 10th and 12th in the year 2022-2023. The function was a great success.

 This day has yet another speciality. Today is National Reading Day. As a mark for celebration various programmes related to reading such as quiz, poster making was organised. We had also actively participated in making letter trees.

I had presented the class on the J.J Thomson's atom model ie The Plum Pudding Model. The students were very much eager to learn about the atom model and it's drawbacks.

DAY 3

 Today I had taken class on Dalton's atomic theory in class 9 and the on class 8 measurements and units. A series of activities were performed to find out the length of curved line, the diameter of sphere and thickness of sheet of paper. Students were very much eager to learn the concept.

DAY 2

 Today I had class on 8A. I had taken the chapter measurements and unit there. With the hel of some learning aids the contents were delivered to the students. There was a discussion on the units familiar to the students. They have responded units such as kilogram, metre, kilometre etc. I had enquired about the units used to measure the length of flower and land. The students actively responded and were very much eager to study the portion.

TEACHING PRACTISE DAY 1

 The second phase of teaching practise started today. I choose SMV Govt. model Higher secondary school. I hope this phase be filled with lot of lessons for carving the best teacher in me. I had a class on 8 B. Being the first day I utilised this day to build a rapport with the students. They were given opportunity to introduce themselves and share their ambition. 

I started the chapter units and measurement there. The students were given chances to discuss on the various units they know. Also activities were given to measure the length of the table using pencil first and then with the scale. There were discussion on the limitations of the units used in earlier times. At last I gave an introduction on the fundamental units of length (metre) and other units such as centimetre and millimetre.

 A food fest was organised at college. Everyone participated with great joy and pleasure.

 There was celebration at college on behalf of World Environment Day. As part of inauguration saplings were handed over to the principal .
